different components depending on the actual model number and serial number. The
earliest series of the Ford tractors made, easily identified by their flat head
engine style, the 9N tractor, 2N tractor, and 8N tractor were all basically the
same with a few exceptions, the 2N and 9N had a 3 speed transmission while the
8N had a 4th gear added. The 9N, 2N, and early 8N's had the distributor mounted
at the front of the engine behind the fan, the later of the 8N’s had the
distributor moved to the right front side.
